Putting on and taking off Compression stockings on your own can present daily difficulties when for instance you are no longer able to bend low enough or you have diminished strength in your hands.

Sometimes a family member or friend is there to help, and sometimes home care assistance is needed. Having to wait one or two times a day for the help of others however, can mean a loss of control over how you plan your day.

HandyLegs can help you to regain that control by enabling you to become self-reliant once again.

Conditions for the successful use of HandyLegs:

  • You can sit independently on a chair without armrests

  • You have enough strength in your hands to hold something

  • You can reach until just above your ankles

  • While seated, you can independently stretch and flex your legs and feet.

If that is the case, then you can use HandyLegs to independently put on and take off your compression stockings. Please do seek further instructions from your supplier, occupational therapist or home care specialist. Or watch our instruction videos below.

There are 2 types of compression stockings; those without a seam are more elastic than those with a seam. This can make it more of a challenge to put them on or take them off. In that case, we advise you to use a sleeve. It is up to you how you use the sleeve. We advise you to read the manual with care and to watch our instruction videos.

HandyLegs is made of aluminium tubes with soft rubber ribbed handles and spoon-tips.

Weight: approx. 1050 gr. And available in three different sizes:

In that case, we recommend you use our comfort set; 4 soft neoprene covers that go over the spoons and that protect your skin when you use the devices. It goes without saying that you should always excercise due care and take your time!

If you inform the airline beforehand that you will be bringing along a medical device, this is – in most cases – not a problem. Airlines often transport medical devices free of charge. By the way HandyFix can be taken apart and placed in your  suitcase- also a good idea!

Unfortunately it is (not yet) possible to take HandyLegs apart, but we are working on it! HandyFix though can be disassembled and fits in most suitcases!

Yes that is possible! It will fit in most suitcase while taken apart! Great while traveling!

Well, the use is recommend, by using the sleeve the friction between the skin and the stocking is reduced, so it makes putting on and taking off easier and more comfortable. The stockings will also benefit.

Certainly. You can wash it a 30 C, using regular dertergent. Do not use softener and do not put it in the dryer. Be aware that frequently washing the sleeve might lead to loss of the coating of the material.

Usually yes, it is a matter of trying. Take your time and make good use of the anti-slip mat, with this you can easily rub the foot of the support stocking in the right place. If necessary, also use rubber gloves to place the compression stocking in place.
